Concerts

We all have a favorite band or singer that we really enjoy to listen and would love the opportunity to see them sing it live. Concerts a great experience not only do you get to see your favorite artist/idol but they perform their songs. However not everyone has had the opportunity to experience a concert. Concerts can be quite expensive depending on the venue and seat. Madison Square Garden is always pricey, if you want to be front and center ticket prices range from 600 to the thousands. It’s not cheap to sit front row, and the not-so-great tickets are still about 200 dollars. That’s not all, for popular concerts tickets sell out in the blink of an eye, then you have to spend countless times calling Ticket Master or browsing Stubhub in a desperate search for tickets. But don’t let that stop you! Try to win tickets, z100 is always giving away free tickets and everyone has a chance. You never know maybe you’ll be the lucky winner. I remember last year I won 4 tickets to the Black Eyed Peas concert that was held in Central Park, and it was one of the best memories I’ve had with my best friends. We were front row and got waved to by Fergie and Taboo. I love going to concerts but it’s so hard to get tickets for the ones I want to see because they sell out so fast. I highly recommend going to one if you haven’t already.

Rihanna’s Music

Rihanna was born and raised in the Barbados. In 2003, Rihanna was discovered when she was 16 by a music producer who was vacationing in Barbados. Then she came to United States and auditioned for Jay Z and landed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings. Her music never has one theme it always changes around. She doesn't have a specific look or style of singing. I think that makes her music really good and draws more fans. Her album “Good girl gone bad” was basically the turning point in her music; she went from singing squeaky clean innocent songs to songs with a little more edge. She’s grown so much as a singer over the years. The sound of her music has matured along with her. Rihanna’s has been through many up and downs in her life and she brings her experiences in to her music, which makes her songs meaningful. Even during her tragic experience of getting abused by Chris Brown she still managed to put out hit after hit. I have been listening to her music since Pon De Replay first came out and I love her music. She is a really talented singer and never fails at making good songs. Every song she makes literally tops the chart, which is what makes her such a good singer.

How Stars emerge from YouTube

Ever notice how a lot of singer or rappers randomly become famous out of nowhere? Well a lot of them get recognized on YouTube. Four Months ago PSY’s “Gangnam Style” video went viral on YouTube. PSY is a famous South Korean Rapper but no one has ever heard of him until Gangnam Style came out. Gangnam style is a good song but in my opinion it’s not really the type of song you listen to you on your iPod, it’s more of the type that you play at parties etc. I’m honestly a little shocked he became so famous from this song., but now he is recognized all over the world. Another person who got famous from YouTube is Soulja Boy. We all know the song “Crank Dat “ from about six years ago. Soulja boy was discovered on YouTube by a producer named Mr.Collipark who saw his video and realized the talent he had. His manager Scooter Braun also discovered Justin Bieber on YouTube. Before he was famous Justin used to post videos of him singing and many people realized he had talent. By luck his talent was recognized by his manager and after his meeting with Usher he had a record deal signing. It’s amazing how just posting a video of yourself can get you so far in life. So if you think you have talent, post a video on YouTube because you never know what may happen.

X Factor or The Voice

As you all may now, The X Factor and The Voice are both incredibly popular shows that air on the Fox and NBC networks.  They both focus on the same premise in which they are singing contests that have one winner and they win a recording contract.  There have been a lot of shows that have focused on choosing a winner in a talent based contest especially after the success of American Idol which debuted in 2002.  Of course, now, the two major shows are having somewhat of a battle because they both focus on singing.  However, I find them to be much different than each other.
While both are singing contests, The X Factor has a much wider range of vocalists and various acts.  On the other hand, contestants on The Voice feature are within the same age range and it is only soloists.  Also the whole audition process is different.  The X Factor contestants make it through based on their voice, but they also make it through based on their whole package.  On The Voice, contestants made it through solely based on their voices and the judges cannot even see them.  Both shows are similar, but they also very different at the same time.  That is why I find it hard to believe that people constantly compare them with one another because they are much different from one another.  Which one you choose to watch totally depends upon you and your taste.  However, I recommend watching both! :D

z100

So I've been listening to z100 for the past few days and I find it better than going on YouTube to search for a song one by one. It's my favorite radio station because they play the most popular songs and I like all the songs they play. Some people think it's mainstream, but who cares. There are other radio stations that I like too, like 103.5 KTU, I go there when z100 has too many commercials and when they talk about stuff I don't care about. Lately, z100 has been talking a lot about z100's Jingleball. The tickets are sold out though. I also noticed that they replay a lot of the interviews and sometimes they play one thing more than once. Have they always been doing that? Am I the only one that listens to the radio? Haha.
Anyways, I really like the song "Diamonds" by Rihanna. It's catchy and it's just one of those songs that I can listen to forever. Rihanna has such a nice voice too. The song goes perfectly with her voice. I also LOVEEEEEE Ed Sheeran. I love all his songs. They're all so amazing and I could listen to his songs forever. Just kidding, I need Rihanna and Taylor Swift too. Speaking of Taylor Swift, her new album just came out recently and her songs are a hit already. Especially the song "We are Never Ever Getting Back Together". I'm sure most of you guys know it. It's a pretty popular song nowadays although it's been a while since it was on YouTube. So, tell me about your favorite artists and songs, I would love to know.
