Kurogane (Kezawa Haruto)

Author: Ikezawa Haruto
Genres: Action, Sports, Supernatural, Comedy, School life

Summary: The protagonist is Kurogane Hiroto. Hiroto is very weak, who can’t do heavy labor but in return he has good eyes. Usually you can see things far away clearly and find that considered as good eyes but not only can he see things super clearly he has good eye acuity. In which he can see things move and follow it, instead of just seeing a blur. One day he is attacked by a kendo master spirit to test if he is worth being the kendo master’s apprentice. This manga is very educational in kendo where you fight another opponent with a shinai (wooden sword).  There are 41 chapters so far and updates have not been quick recently.

My take on Comic Con 2012

Comic Con 2012....................was AMAZING! It was so exhilarating seeing all these fans and cosplayers, it may sound a bit odd but it truly did feel like I stepped into a completely different world. As I made my way to Javits Center, I saw a bunch of other fans and it was a welcoming feeling knowing that there were a bunch of other people that were going to enjoy and experience the things you will. My favorite part of Comic Con was not only the vibe, but all the new demos and sneak-peaks that are in store. I got to experience first hand the new All-Star Battle Royale for the PS3 which is basically a Super Smash Bros. type of game but the roster is full of different characters ranging from Sackboy (Little Big Planet) to Sweet Tooth (Twisted Metal). I have dreamed about games like these and it is truly something I look forward to. It takes all my favorite games and combines them into one fighting game. One other game I look forward to is the new DC Universe game called Injustice: God among Us which features certain producers from Mortal Kombat. I look forward to this game since the graphics and move sets are amazing. Getting back to Comic Con in general, it felt like there were a lot more activities this year since there was more opportunity to do things such as play demos, dance along to Gangnam Style, Participate in giveaways and sign up for panels. I enjoyed the experience overall and I guess one thing I regret is not jumping on the opportunity to take a picture with Hello Kitty (who was dressed as Chun-Li from Street Fighter). It would have made a great memorable photo but I guess I will have to wait until next time when Comic Con is back in New York City.

Feel free to comment about your own experiences and whether or not you liked or disliked the event. For those of you who did not attend, I recommend going next time and prepare for it to be able to get the best out of this event.

IP Man

Hello! And welcome to this special blog post, a post about a greatmartial arts movie, everyone can enjoy. It is a movie based on the true story of Ip Man, a great Wing Chun martial arts master. In fact, he was the master of martial arts icon Bruce Lee. Now i don't see why everyone likes Bruce Lee so much, he isn't that great (or at least in my opinion). He was fast, I'll give him that, but a wise master once told me, Wing Chun made him even faster! I believe it, Wing Chun Kung Fu, its a great Martial art, how would I know?... I watch movies, like this one! This movie took time before and during the WWII when the Japanese invaded China. Ip man was the best master in Foshan, he was undefeated in the movie. Defeated a bunch of foreigners who challenged the whole town, even when he was attacked with a sword like weapon. But that was not his greatest feat in the movie, at least not to me. It was when the Japanese had invaded and they were taking Chinese Kung Fu masters, to see who was better. When Ip Man got wind of how his friend disappeared when taken by the Japanese, he went to where the
fights were held. On took on 10 black belts in some Japanese Martial art! Amazing, he was something, and that's all I will say on what happens, don't want to spoil it. Ip Man is a great man who valued honor and tradition, along with family. Yes he had a wife and kid in the movie, has another  in the second. Actually, Ip Chun, Ip Mans son, helped to make the movie, did a very good job. This is a great and inspiring movie, action is inconceivable, so vivid. You should watch it and I'll just leave a clip at the bottom. Until next time.

Seasonal Chapters

The seasons represent so much more than a change in weather and the life cycle of plants and some animals.  Seasons are not only so beautiful but represent the end of something and the start of something better.  It’s like a new chapter starting over and it’s really beautiful because after they are knocked down or release all their leaves, they get back up and start all over.  Mother Nature never lets anything hold her back and I think that it can represent so much more because it shows that even when things are tough you just have to get back up.  There is always more to life and there will always be hardships since that is how life is but the people who can get back up and turn the page, those are the ones who are going to succeed.  There’s a quote that I live by, it’s a really long quote but part of it talks about how “some people are going to quit and some people are going to start going slower, but the people who can finish and finish at the same pace or stronger than when they started, those are the ones who are going to succeed...” is so true and can relate back to Mother Nature because there is constant struggle and during some seasons death but Mother Nature always manages to get right back up.
The moral of the story is to never give up or let any hardships and difficulties in life hold you down because it is getting back up and starting all over that makes you a stronger person. Letting someone or something hold you back from reaching your dreams only makes it more difficult in the long run and much harder to learn anything.

Akame Ga Kiru

Author: Takahiro

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Drama, Romance, Shounen, Psychological

Summary: A very fun to read Shounen manga. The art is fabulous and very soothing to the eye. The protagonist is Akame, a young boy who is leaving his poor village to make it big in the capital. When he arrives he finds out that the capital was not how he believed it to be. Soon after, he is meeting face to face with the capitals most notorious assassins; what does this mean? will the protagonist die in just the first chapter? So far there are 31 chapters and the updates are slow which can make you mad waiting for it, but it’s worth your time and patience.

Aliens

Aliens; I am not talking about those with big heads and black bulging eyes. but I'm talking about those black lizard-like creatures with acidic blood that are most symbolically known for bursting out of people's chest. I wasn't particularly interested in these aliens until I saw the film "Aliens Vs. Predators" during middle school. And for some odd reason it became the only thing I can think of every time I hear the word "Alien". I find this fictional creature surprisingly fascinating , especially their unique life cycle, first they started out as an egg (lay by the queen like in ants/wasps colonies), then hatches face-huggers to attach themselves to a nearby host and lay embryos directly into the body, and next of course, the chest-bursters, taking some of their host's traits. It then reaches maturity in a fairly short amount of time and then it either kills anything that poses as a threat or captures any prey to be a new host for their species.
It wasn't until the film "Prometheus", that came out June of this year, that I decided to watch the entire series. To be honest it really surprised me to see that the very first film was played more than 30 years ago (1979). I recently finished the first and second film but I trying to stop myself to continue, not because the series is boring or lame (I love horror movies) but I just hate the dark creepy settings and unexpected pop ups that made me nearly jump out of my seat. But in the end, I truly recommend people who enjoy science fiction and/or horror films to give a shot at the series.

P.S. Don't watch any of the films at three in the morning - trust me, it's a bad idea....

The Vampire Diaries Season Four Premiere

Last Thursday on October 11th, The CW Television Network Series The Vampire Diaries made its season four debut.  The series, which is based on the book of the same name written by L.J. Smith, first premiered on the channel CW in September of 2009 and has since then been a huge hit on the channel.  It follows the life of a teenage girl named Elena Gilbert who proceeds to fall in love with a vampire named Stefan Salvatore, and ever since then her life has turned around completely.  Her relationship with Stefan Salvatore brought many obstacles to her life and the lives of people she is close to.  It is an intense drama-filled series with tons of action and romance.  It is so much more than your typical vampire-human love story.  The show displays other conflicts  that people tend to deal with.
The first episode follows what happens after Elena is involved in a car accident in which she dies and becomes a vampire because of the vampire blood that was left in her.  She has to choose whether she wants to die or stay a vampire forever.  However, her friend Bonnie who is a witch tries to find a way in which she could bring Elena’s human soul back to Earth, but this task proves to be difficult and brings forth a huge twist in the series.  It was an amazing and suspenseful episode like every other episode of this show has been.  If you love supernatural shows or movies, you should definitely watch this show.  Even if you have not watched a single episode of this show in your life, I highly recommend that you start to watch the previous seasons online if you are a big fan of supernatural plots.

Psychotic Man Creeps on Miley

On Yahoo news, there was an article about how a 40 year-old man was caught trespassing Miley Cyrus’ house and was arrested. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail for trespassing private property. Authorities caught the man at Cyrus’ Los Angeles home attempting to break in while carrying a pair of scissors in his hands. Luckily she wasn't home at the time but that must be terrifying to find out that someone was attempting to get inside your home and you have no idea what their intentions were. I think that this man does belong behind bars for this, not only did he invade her privacy but he endangered her safety. That’s why in a way, all the glamour and fame isn't worth it because you are always running into some sort of conflict. Everywhere you go, people will recognize you and approach you or paparazzi will follow you finding every possible piece of information they can get.  You constantly have to worry about your personal information getting leaked or broadcasted worldwide. You basically have no private life when you are famous; Everyone watches you. You also have to worry about fans that will go to the extent of stalking you or psychotic people who will try to break into your home and potentially harm you. In reality, being famous isn't as magnificent as it seems.

More Gaming News

Today I’m bringing you more gaming news that may be interesting to some of you. For those of you that don’t know, the new game ,Dishonored, was just released so be sure to pick up a copy if you haven’t already. The game revolves around an assassin who gains mystical powers which he uses to complete his objectives. Be warned though, the game does contain a lot of gory combat situations but other than that, enjoy! For die hard Pokémon fans out there, Pokémon Black and White 2 were also released recently so pick up a copy of that as well. Regarding Borderlands 2 players, if you pre-ordered the game, be sure to download the Mechromancer DLC. Surprisingly, Gearbox (Borderlands 2 creator) released the Mechromancer class one week earlier than they said previously before the game came out. The new Mechromancer class features three new skill trees called Best Friends Forever, Little Big Trouble, and Ordered Chaos. Each skill tree features very interesting abilities that upgrade the robot you summon (DeathTrap). The skill trees are also similar to Axton’s skill tree.

A Warm Meal

Scattered all over the place, each individual has his/her own role and occupation throughout the day. Whether the responsibility is to attend school or to go to work, each person is busy. In fact, people are so busy that they feel they have no time to waste by being passive, but being passive is not necessary claimed to be a bad state. The beneficial side of being in the passive condition is people would not miss anything precious to admire or anything extraordinary that only comes once in a lifetime.
Stressed by the college admission process and all the schoolwork and tests that I have to keep up with at the same moment, I feel troublesome, and my fellow colleagues feel the same way as well. Daydreaming is like a crime for us. However, our separated paths cross when we enjoy a meal together, because food is the magical force which scent attracts and brings any different groups of people together. Throughout my day, the most relaxing part is the meal I shared with my close ones. When we sit down together to play cards and to catch up on time, I am not living for tomorrow but enjoying the present; I’m not missing anything worthwhile. People are missing out when they rush their meals with their families. Put down your work, slow down, and enjoy your meals! Love yourself!
