First Game of the Season: WIN!!!

The girls soccer team just had their first game on 09/08/2012 at Randall Island against Environmental Studies. With Only 12 girls on the team, 11 on the field and 1 as a substitute, we had a big disadvantage compared to the other school. But as a team, we were able to pull through. We had the ball first and the wind with on our side. It was a tough first half; with an amazing assist from Maria to Patty and out first goal was in. Then another goal was made by Patty. But that wasn't all, out defenders and mid-field played hard through the first half, having no goals made by the other team. With no subs, we had to conserve our energy as much as possible. Waiting for the first half of the game to have was a dread. Most of us, if not all of us, were out of breath; trying to push through. Finally the whistle was blown and we were up by 2 -0. With finally able to get a break, we talked about what to do for the second half, now the wind against us. We got up to get ready for the second half, and with the wind blowing against us, it was hard. The start of the second half wasn't the best where the other team scored 2, which tied the game. But, that didn't stop us from getting those points back. With Patty back on forward and our defense playing hard and mid- field playing hard we got those 2 points back and won the game 4-2!
